Category: accessible Devices
Hi all:
A friend of mine doesn't have cable or satelite tv. She is considering getting the digital converter boxes and using rabit ears. She was telling me that she's heard that the remote controls for these boxes aren't acessible. Anyone heard anything about this?
thanks in advance,
Lou
The most accessible remote controls I've seen are ones which have a dot on the number 5 and I have one for my freeview box which has a dot on the button for audio description.
How can a remote control be accessible or inaccessible, unless you mean whether it talks or not? The only annoying thing on modern televisions is the menus and crap. But we switched from regular cable to FIOS and I haven't watched tv since. I hate the idea of having to use two separate controls, of fifty billion channels and of all the visuals (on demand etc).
Actually, after I wrote the post, I realized how uncler it was. The menus are what I was getting at. Thanks for bringing it up.
Lou
With the really expensive freeview boxes I was saying about, I'm not sure whetehr the speech speaks the menus or just the channel names.
I know nothing about this, but I wanted to get a converter box. Is it too complicated?
Do you mean to convert to digital tv? If you're in England and registered blind or receiving certain benefits, apparently you can get help with installing this.
Yeah I wanted the converter to convert to digital, but I dont know much about those boxes, and I didn't know they came with separate remotes either. That sounds hard!
i want sky pluss but i don't think its accessible i want to be able to watch what i want when i want will have to contact rnib about that surely there should be something
